An Australian female MP has claimed that she was sexually assaulted by drugging herself.
Britney Logan, Member of Parliament of the Australian state of Queensland, has filed a police complaint that she was drugged and sexually assaulted.
In a statement posted on social media, Brittany Logan, said that the unfortunate incident took place in her own constituency. Tests at the hospital confirmed the presence of drugs in the body that he had not taken.
He added that the substance had affected him 'significantly'.
The 37-year-old woman MP had filed a complaint at the police station on April 28, after which she went to the hospital for medical examination.
According to the report, the woman MP was allegedly contacted by other women who said that a similar incident had happened to them and that they were also given drugs that evening.
On the complaint of the Member of Parliament, the police have started an investigation.
According to the British media, incidents of gender-based violence have increased in Australia in recent weeks and protests against the incidents are demanding the government to declare gender-based violence a national emergency and implement strict laws to prevent it.
