The bodies of the Iranian president, foreign minister and others were found at the site of the helicopter crash.

According to Iran's official media, the bodies of President Ebrahim Raisi, Foreign Minister and other officials have been found at the helicopter crash site yesterday.

President Raisi's helicopter went missing shortly after taking off from his official engagement in Azerbaijan on Sunday. The search for the crashed helicopter continued late into the night in severe weather, fog and extremely dangerous mountainous terrain. However, the wreckage of this helicopter was found on Monday.

60-year-old Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian is also among the dead. The governor of Tabriz is among the other people who did not survive the helicopter crash.

According to the Iranian media, according to the constitution, the vice president will assume the presidential duties.

The Iranian president's helicopter has crashed at a time of uncertainty in the Middle East due to the war between Israel and Hamas.

According to international news agencies Reuters and AP, state TV did not immediately reveal the cause of the crash in Iran's East Azerbaijan province.

After Iranian president's helicopter goes missing, rescue workers on Monday found a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the country's foreign minister and other officials that apparently crashed in Iran's mountainous northwest a day earlier.

Iran's official news agency IRNA has said that there were "no signs of life" at the crash site.

The head of the Iranian Red Crescent, Pir Hossein Koulivand, told state media that as the sun rose on Monday, rescue workers saw the helicopter at the crash site from a distance of about two kilometers.

He did not explain further. Iranian officials were missing for the past 12 hours.

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was on a visit to East Azerbaijan province. Iran's state television said the "helicopter carrying the president crashed in the Jolfa region of the western province," while some officials described it as a "hard landing."

IRNA has said that President Ibrahim Raisi was accompanied by Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abd al-Hyan, Governor of East Azerbaijan Province and other officials and bodyguards.

A video has been released by Arna on Monday morning. In the video, he describes a green mountain range as the crash site. At the same time, the soldiers said in the local Azeri language, "Here it is, we got it."

Shortly thereafter, state TV said in on-screen scrolling text that 'there were no signs of life in the helicopter.' Workers were shown using a small drone. They were also having the same conversation among themselves.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister have little hope of surviving a helicopter crash in a fog-shrouded mountainous region, an Iranian official said Monday after rescue teams searched for debris.

"We can see the debris and the situation is not good."

Iran's state media has said that the accident occurred on Sunday due to bad weather, which is hampering the rescue operation.

State news agency IRNA has said that President Ibrahim Raisi was traveling in an American-made Bell 212 helicopter.

Iran's army chief has ordered to use all resources to find the helicopter and rescue operation.

According to the official TV, the clerics appealed to the people to pray. Some people gathered in Tehran and prayed for President Ibrahim Raisi.

One person, Mehdi Sidi, said, "If anything happens to them, our hearts will break." May our prayers be fulfilled and they come back safely.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has also urged Iranians to pray and said that they should "not worry" about Iran's leadership and said that "there will be no hindrance in the work of the country."

After this incident, several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Qatar and Turkey, and the European Union have expressed concern and offered help.
